A practical checklist for comparing road, air and sea proposals using the same pickup, handling and delivery scope.
Use the actual pickup postcode
A quote based only on “Spain” leaves the collection leg undefined. Provide the factory or warehouse postcode, loading hours and a contact person. Cargo in the Barcelona area and cargo in southern Spain call for different collection planning. Do not reuse a rate for a different origin without asking for the inland leg to be reviewed.
Define the endpoint in Iran
Specify whether the request ends at an airport, port, customs terminal or another agreed location. Include the city and address where known. Two offers can describe the same international route but finish at different points. Ask which destination handling and onward delivery tasks are included before comparing the totals.
Give road carriers a usable cargo profile
For FTL and LTL enquiries, list package dimensions, total weight and whether packages are stackable. Include loading access and the equipment available at the Spanish supplier. If a temperature condition or special handling requirement applies, state it with the initial enquiry. Confirm consolidation arrangements and collection windows for smaller loads before promising the seller a loading date.
Compare air and sea against the actual deadline
State the date by which the goods are needed and ask what the proposed timing covers. An airport-to-airport estimate is different from a complete pickup-to-delivery plan. For sea freight, request the inland and port stages as part of the comparison. For urgent items, obtain a separate option rather than assuming the entire order needs to travel together.
Read the scope below the price
Compare quotation validity, the stated route, handling stages, included services and exclusions. Ask what happens if the seller is not ready on the booked date or if the final packed dimensions change. These questions help align expectations before a truck or another transport service is arranged. Transit estimates and capacity should be reconfirmed when the booking is made.
Prepare a single comparison sheet
Keep the same cargo data and requested delivery scope across all offers. Record the quoted mode, collection arrangement, destination point, estimated timing and stated exclusions in separate columns. Send any missing information back for clarification before choosing. The aim is a workable transport plan with a clear scope, not a comparison of headline prices alone.
For a shipment-specific review, send your origin, destination and packing details through the quote form.
