FREIGHT PLANNING GUIDE

UAE to Iran: Planning Air and Sea Freight

Plan air or sea freight from the UAE to Iran: cargo readiness, collection details, shipment scope and a checklist for comparable freight quotes.

Start with the collection point and delivery scope

Nova Rah Mana offers air and sea freight between the UAE and Iran. Before requesting a rate, identify where the goods are physically held: a supplier, a warehouse or a cargo terminal. Give the exact collection address, the contact responsible for releasing the goods and the agreed destination in Iran. Do not assume that an airport-to-airport or port-to-port offer includes collection and final delivery.

When requesting an air option

Tell the team why the shipment is time-sensitive and the latest acceptable delivery date. Provide the final number of pieces, the gross weight and the external dimensions of each package. If one item is urgent, list it separately from the rest of the order so it can be reviewed independently. Mention batteries, liquids, temperature needs or other handling requirements before a routing is proposed; acceptance must be checked for the actual cargo.

When requesting a sea option

For sea freight, state whether you need a full container or a consolidated shipment, if known. For a full container, specify the requested size, quantity and loading location. For consolidated cargo, give the individual package dimensions and say whether the packages can be stacked. Ask the team to identify the proposed ports, any intermediate handling and the destination services included. Capacity and estimated timing are confirmed for the shipment, not guaranteed by a general route guide.

Confirm release before arranging collection

A ready date and a release authorization are different pieces of information. Ask the holder of the goods to confirm both, together with any collection reference, appointment requirement and loading arrangements. If the cargo is already at a terminal or held by another warehouse operator, share the available arrival or release information. Request a clear explanation of any outstanding local charges before committing to pickup.

Compare the complete offer

Compare air and sea proposals using the same origin, destination and cargo details. Ask which collection, handling, main freight and onward-delivery services are included, which are excluded and how long the quotation remains valid. Keep the seller’s commercial delivery term separate from the services you want the forwarder to perform. Ask for estimated timing between clearly named milestones rather than treating a departure date as a delivery commitment.

A brief that avoids repeated questions

Send the UAE collection contact and address, the destination in Iran, cargo description, available HS code, packed dimensions, weight, ready date and preferred mode. Attach the packing list, available commercial documents and useful cargo photos. State any special handling needs and the required delivery scope. The team can then review the suitable air or sea arrangement and identify any missing shipment-specific information.

For the reverse movement from Iran to UAE, request a separate shipment review and give the origin and destination in the actual direction of travel.
